Wet Winter Vibes: Cozy Window Nooks

Happy January Everyone! With a crazy cold snap in the States, and cold, wet weather even here in Singapore (10 days of straight rain and a high of 77 degrees today, which I have never seen!) all I can think about is settling into a cozy nook with a good book. Last night my little guy and I baked cookies and watched the rain falling on the pool (I know, so Singapore!). Here are few inspirations for cozy window nooks! In addition for making use of tight spaces, window seats also offer instant architecture.

House Tour: Boho Modern in East Hampton

While those of you in the US are headed into fall, we are still (and eternally!) anchored in summer here in Singapore! I am always looking for spaces which lend themselves to hot climates, so I was especially inspired by this fab home in East Hampton. Designed by Veronica Hamlet, it's a decided twist from a classic beachy interior. She has managed to create a vibe which is sophisticated, eclectic and a bit edgy while still feeling breezy and casual. I love that this home would be as welcoming in fall and winter as in summer! Any details you love?

P.S. if you are dying over all those amazing vintage Moroccan rugs like I am, the designer also sells them here online

Inpsiration Files: An Entry with Style

In space-tight Singapore, it is rare I get to decorate a true entry - so I am excited to tackle one for a new project! Usually it's more of an entry hallway, common in condos, but this house has a proper room to welcome you into the home. Must haves include an interesting pendant fixture, a sideboard for shoe storage (a necessity in Asia!) and a piece of comfy upholstered seating. I love when an entry declares the personality of the owners right as you come in. Here are few compact but lively entries packed with style from our inspiration files . . .

Singapore Style: A Tropical Terrace

Not too long ago a trendy new restaurant Do Ho opened here in Singapore. I love its tropical chic interiors so I was thrilled when a long time client requested a new terrace inspired by these cool spaces. The client has a large decked back yard and he loves to entertain so we thought this fun, breezy style would suit perfectly! Loving how it all came together, now just wait to for an invite to his next party . . .

House Tour: Swedish Blues

Neutrals are lovely but sometimes you just crave color! Saturated in a million shades of blue and layered with pattern, this Swedish home is a so inspiring. It is the home of photographer and creative Kristin Lagerqvist and her young family, and the spaces beautifully blend a fresh, casual aesthetic with lots of antique pieces. I especially love the use of gallery walls and bold wall papers. Just dreamy . . .

InstaTravels: Porto & Mallorca

One of the silver linings about living so far from home, is that almost anyplace is in the middle! Last week we meet our families in Porto, Portugal and Mallorca, Spain. It was such a wonderful week, filled with gorgeous architecture, beaches, food, scenery and family time. Feeling so grateful and inspired (and already missing these faces!) Here are few of my favorite moments. . .
